I’ve been incorporating Dwarf Alberta Spruce trees into my yard for the past year now and just love their shape and size. Dwarf Alberta Spruce are lovely conifers that have soft, lush green needles and remain small for the duration of their life. I am not a fan of anything thorny or unpleasant to touch and try to avoid putting those sort of plantings in my yard, so this coniferous species is ideal!
This is a Dwarf Alberta Spruce that is 20 to 30 years old and only a little over 5 feet tall.
Young Alberta Spruce trees….
These two trees in front of the wall were planted recently, I hope they can survive the hot west Kansas sun.
I find Dwarf Alberta Spruce to be the perfect little coniferous tree to plant in a yard in that they are:
- Evergreen, keeping their needles and green color through out each season
- Dwarf and can be placed in small spaces
- Keep their conical shape without any shearing
- Soft to the touch
Can’t wait until they get a little bigger!
