I don’t know about you, but I worry about things like my corroded pipes bursting under my house, squirrels getting into my attic, trees falling and crushing my home, etc. So peace of mind is something I strive for and try to buy when I can. Yes, sometimes peace of mind has a price tag on it. I decided to buy a little peace of mind by having my 1960’s corroded water pipes replaced with PEX Tubing (cross-linked polyethylene).
Advantages of PEX Tubing include:
- less expensive than copper pipes
- flexible
- resistant to scale and chlorine
- doesn’t corrode or develop pinholes
- installation is faster than metal or rigid plastic
- less connections/fittings

I’ll take all of these advantages and be done with worrying about what’s going on under my home!
Before:
My dryer vent hose has obviously disconnected since there is lint all over the crawlspace. Nice!
After:
PEX tubing might be something to consider if you own a home with galvanized pipes that are aging. #peaceofmind #worthit
Let’s get back above, instead of below, where things are a little more interesting!
